NQROC advocates on behalf of its member councils and the region on key issues and priorities. This includes advocating to all levels of government, relevant agencies and organisations on matters such as infrastructure planning and investment, waste and water management, regional development, as well as access to services and liveability.

Our work contributes to the public debate, with the aim to highlight the North Queensland region’s concerns and priorities including -

REgional Development - the fostering of population and infrastructure growth to increase Gross REgional Product and economic diversification.

Liveability - improving housing, social infrastructure, connectivity, and cohesive communities.

environment - a regional approach to environmental issues including biosecurity, sustainable water and waste managment.
