NQROC is a partnership of five councils:
Burdekin, Charters Towers, Hinchinbrook, Palm Island and Townsville.

 

We advocate for North Queensland’s priorities and ensure major local government issues are addressed across all levels of government.

We foster cooperation and resource sharing between councils and collaborate closely with regional partners and stakeholders.

The region is home to 247,234 residents, 9% of whom are First Nations peoples. It spans more than 80,000 square kilometres, from the Great Barrier Reef to savannah country, across diverse agricultural and urban landscapes.
